How neat. It ties the two together. Thanks. I hadn't noticed that. Nebuchadnezzar, 1 head, Media-Persia, 1 head, Greece, 4 heads, Rome, 1 head = 7 heads. Rome has 10 horns. In Rev. 13:1, the ten horns are crowned, showing that it is the last days, also the time of the 10 toes of Nebuchadnezzar's dream. The 10 kings are crowned as the Tribulation begins. Thus the 42 months of Rev. 13:5 are the first half of the Tribulation.
Mid-Trib, "another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots" (Dan. 7:8), makes his appearance. Therefore, in the 1st half of the Tribulation, there are 10 kings. After 42 months (1260 days) go by, the False Prophet comes to full power. He is "the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows" (Dan. 7:20). Rev. 13:11 says he "spake as a dragon," because he will be Satan possessed.
Dan. 8:23-26 takes us to the end of the shortened Tribulation. It says, "when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up (the Satan-possessed False Prophet). And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up AGAINST the Prince of princes ( AGAINST CHRIST, i.e., the False Prophet is the true ANTICHRIST); but he shall be broken without hand. And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days."
What was the vision of the evening and morning that is true? We find it in Dan. 8:13,14: "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (lit., evenings and mornings); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." Thus the time the Jews can sacrifice is the 1260 days that the 1st beast of Rev. 13 is in power. The time after the sanctuary is defiled by the transgression of desolation (the False Prophet sitting in the temple "shewing himself that he is God," II Thess. 2:4) to the end of the shortened Tribulation is 2300 days minus the 1st 1260 days. The False Prophet stays in office 1040 days (1260 + 1040 = 2300, the shortened Tribulation), then he is deposed by the Wrath of God. For 7 more months (Eze. 39:12), Satan will operate on his own. He is "the eighth" of Rev. 17:11. Then Christ will return.

I think it is much more than that. I think the capital of the world will be built at literal Babylon. It will be the headquarters of the One World Government and the United Religions and will be destroyed by an asteroid impact (Rev. 8:10; 18:21) on the 2300th day of the Tribulation, the Day of God's Wrath, the 1st day of the millennial Day of the Lord. Isa. 9:15 says, "The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail." I understand the former to be the Beast, the Tribulation Pope, and the tail to be the False Prophet inhabited by Satan. When the tail of the great red dragon operates in the False Prophet, he will then speak "as a dragon" (Rev. 13:11). After the False Prophet is deposed from office on the Day of God's Wrath, Satan will operate on his own as "the eighth" of Rev. 17:11 the rest of the 2520 days of the 70th week of Daniel, or 220 days (2520 - 2300 of Dan. 8:14 = 220).
I've seen something on the Internet about the war of Eze. 38 coming before the Tribulation. I don't buy into that, even though I think there will be war somewhere in about the 2nd year of the Tribulation, when the 2nd seal is broken. However, surely even that can't be the war of Eze. 38. Zech. 14:1-3 says, "Behold, the DAY OF THE LORD cometh (its the Feast of Trumpets, Mal. 2:3; Joel 2:1-3), and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather ALL NATIONS AGAINST JERUSALEM TO BATTLE (Gog's united nations' army will attack); and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. THEN shall the LORD go forth, and FIGHT AGAINST THOSE NATIONS."
Listen to what Eze. 38:18-20 says, "it shall come to pass at the SAME TIME when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that MY FURY shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the FIRE OF MY WRATH have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a GREAT SHAKING in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and ALL THE MEN THAT ARE UPON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, SHALL SHAKE at my presence (paneh, face, i.e., the Sign of the Son of Man, Mt. 24:30; Rev. 6:14f), and THE MOUNTAINS SHALL BE THROWN DOWN, and the steep places shall fall, and EVERY WALL SHALL FALL TO THE GROUND." This is the worldwide earthquake of the 7th vial of God's Wrath.
Rev. 16:1,17-19 says, "pour out the vials of the WRATH OF GOD upon the earth....And the seventh angel poured out his vial...and there was a GREAT EARTHQUAKE, SUCH AS WAS NOT SINCE MEN WERE UPON THE EARTH, SO MIGHTY AN EARTHQUAKE, AND SO GREAT. And the great city was divided into three parts, and THE CITIES OF THE NATIONS FELL: AND GREAT BABYLON came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of THE FIERCENESS OF HIS WRATH."
This is the Day of God's Wrath, the 1st day of the millennial Day of the Lord. I think that in Heaven, Christ is given his kingdom, the saints are gathered to "the general assembly" (Heb. 12:23,24) from all parts of Heaven and Earth (Pre-Wrath Rapture, Mk. 13:27), the Marriage of the Lamb takes place, and Christ is seated as judge during the silence in Heaven and Earth. When the Judgment Seat of Christ convenes, all the saints get their rewards at the same time that the unbelievers left on Earth get their just rewards for their unbelief.
Rev. 11:18 says, "And THE NATIONS WERE ANGRY (Gog's army attacking Israel), and THY WRATH IS COME (as in Eze. 38:18-20), and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give REWARD unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; AND shouldest DESTROY them which destroy the earth.
Rev. 8:1-11 says, " And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was SILENCE in heaven (and in Earth, Hab. 2:20) about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets....And the angel took THE CENSER (representing the asteroid), AND FILLED IT WITH FIRE OF THE ALTAR, AND CAST IT INTO THE EARTH: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an EARTHQUAKE. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were A GREAT MOUNTAIN BURNING WITH FIRE WAS CAST INTO THE SEA (the Mediterranean, Zeph. 2:4,5; Eze. 38:20): and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a GREAT STAR (aster, star, asteroid or meteor) FROM HEAVEN, BURNING AS IT WERE A LAMP, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star (the asteroid) is called Wormwood (bitterness)."
All 7 trumpet judgments are cast on Earth. Then the 7 vials that fill up the "WRATH OF GOD UPON THE EARTH" (Rev. 17:1) are poured out. By the 7th, we read in Rev. 16:17-20, "there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, IT IS DONE. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was A GREAT EARTHQUAKE, SUCH AS WAS NOT SINCE MEN WERE UPON THE EARTH, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and THE CITIES OF THE NATIONS FELL: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of HIS WRATH. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found."
When the nations get angry and attack Israel, the cities of the nations will fall. That is the Day of God's Wrath. That has to be at the end of the shortened Tribulation. I think "IT IS DONE" refers to the "flaming sword" of Gen. 3:24 striking the area near where the Garden of Eden used to be. I think it is the smiting stone of Rev. 18:21: "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
Rev. 8:8 tells us of the asteroid that hits the Mediterranean Sea. It says, "And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood. Zeph. 2:4-7shows what happens then. "Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks. And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah." The PLO will not keep Gaza.
I think "the flaming sword" of Gen. 3:24 is "the sword of the Lord." Jer. 12:12 says, "The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the SWORD OF THE LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace." This was prefigured in Ju. 7:20. When Gideon took Midian, "The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the SWORD OF THE LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace." It was also prefigured on Joshua's long day (i.e., Jesus' long day). Jos. 10:11 says, "the LORD cast down GREAT STONES FROM HEAVEN upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword." That seems utterly impossible to me. If we are saved, we can't "perish at the Judgment Seat of Christ." Rev. 11:18 says, "And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be JUDGED, and that thou shouldest give REWARD unto thy servants the prophets, and TO THE SAINTS, and them that fear thy name, SMALL AND GREAT; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."
At this point, I think all believers are in Heaven and all unbelievers on Earth. Mk. 13:27 says, "And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth (Pre-Wrath Rapture) to the uttermost part of heaven" (those caught up in the Pre-Trib Rapture). After this, Rev. 15:8 says, "no man was able to enter into the TEMPLE, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled." This is the day that Israel will be saved in a day (Isa. 66:8), but those live on Earth during the Millennium.
I Cor. 12:11-16 says, "other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire. Know ye not that ye are the TEMPLE of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" On this day, this TEMPLE of God is complete. All saints are in Heaven. None are lost. In Jn. 18:9, Jesus said, " Of them which thou gavest me have I lost NONE." Agape
This group is caught up in Rev. 4:1, when the voice of Christ, "as it were of a TRUMPET" says, "Come up hither." This group "out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" (Rev. 5:9) are in Heaven before the Tribulation starts in Rev. 6. I see no possible way that the first TRUMP OF GOD can be the 7 trumpet judgments that take place on the 2300th day (Dan. 8:14) of the shortened Tribulation, the Day of God's Wrath.
I think the second, or LAST TRUMP OF GOD, does sound on that day to call the Tribulation saints to Heaven. However, even that "last trump" of I Cor. 15:51,52 sounds before the 7 trumpet judgments ever start to sound. No believer is to go through God's wrath. I Thess. 5:9 says, "God hath NOT appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."
All the saints are in Heaven just before God's Wrath hits Earth. Rev. 11:18 says, "And the nations were angry (Gog's army is attacking Israel), and THY WRATH IS COME, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged (at the Judgment Seat of Christ in Heaven), and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; AND shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth" (with God's Wrath). Then, the 7 trumpet judgments hit Earth.
The two Raptures, the two trumps of God, were prefigured by the TWO SILVER TRUMPETS. Nu. 10:2-4 says, "Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them (both, i.e., the last trump of I Cor. 15:51,52), ALL the assembly (i.e., the "general assembly" of Heb. 12:12) shall assemble themselves to thee at the door (symbol of a Rapture, Rev. 3:8) of the tabernacle of the congregation. And if they blow but with ONE TRUMPET, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee." These are the 24 elders of Rev. 4:4, the 12 patriarchs of Israel and the 12 apostles.
The first Rapture is as the days of Noah. No fire fell. The second Rapture is as the days of Lot, "But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all" (Lu. 17:29). The first Rapture is before the Tribulation. The second Rapture is on the Day of God's Wrath, but before the 7 trumpet judgments start to sound.

Read about the 6th trump in Rev. 9:13f. It says nothing about the antichrist. The Beast appears at the 1st seal (Rev. 6:1,2) at the beginning of the Tribulation and is deposed in Mid-Trib. The False Prophet comes to full power at the 4th seal (Rev. 6:7,8) in Mid-Trib, and is deposed by God's Wrath on the 2300th day, the day the 7 trumpet judgments hit Earth and end his reign. Agape
Another thing I've been wondering about is Daniel 5:25, the word MENE (God hath numbered thy kingdom and finished it) is repeated twice, maybe there's a correlation with Revelation 18:2 (Babylon the great is fallen is fallen)where the phrase "is fallen" is repeated twice,what do you think?

I think there is a definite connection. As ancient Babylon was numbered and finished, the final Babylon will be numbered and finished. The former was the first of Nebuchadnezzar's statue, the head of gold. The latter will be the 7th head of the great red dragon. Agape
This is so very interesting!!--God is really confirming things in such a dramatatic way--a friend and I were talking the other day, and she has done all this work and has shown that 30 minutes on God's calendar (one day is as a thousand years) is equivilent to 20 years--now this am (yes this very morning) I was thinking of that scripture "could you not pray with me for but one hour"--and I figured that this then equals 40 years--from 1967 to 2007 is 40 years--and God is calling on His Church to pray with Him for His beloved Israel for this time--My God!!--the Church has really been asleep, but there will be a great awakening--very soon, and much repentence will come forth--yes the time to enter into the fellowship of His suffering has come, but oh!!, the glory to come--the mere sufferings of this world are nothing to compare with what He has for His beloved!!--far beyond what we can ever imagine--God pays back in abundance--every glass of cold water we've ever given--every movement of our heart to Him will be paid back in eternal dimensions--sometimes all I can do anymore is weep, as He fills me with this knowledge--I love Him so much, and now I just want to be poured out for Him.
This would include the Second Advent, which I think will be Nisan 1, 5768, our Apr. 6, 2008, the anniversary of the Crucifixion on our calendar. Agape

--- That part of historical Eretz Israel known as Yesha has never been part of the modern State of Israel, but has remained since 1967 "disputed territory" that was never annexed or placed under Israeli sovereignty....
My question is: If Israel gives back the Gaza Strip, Sinai, West Bank and Golan Heights as a result of the peace talks with PLO and Syria, would your interpretation of the parable of the fig tree growing leaves need to be revised?
No. Nothing that happens later can change the fact that they grew those 4 big leaves in the Six-Day War of 1967. They even took the temple area. Agape
